What does the hardware consist of?

The Remote Forensic hardware comprises of 2 main elements

• The PODs
• FIMS server

Each element also consists of certain parts as detailed below.

 The PODs

The are 3 PODs available to suit most situations.

1. STATIC POD A 19” rack mount unit comprising removable read/write and read/only drive bays for deployment in a server rack.
2. FIELD POD
A 19” rack mount unit comprising removable read/write and read/only drive bays in a rugged rolling case for mobile deployment.
3. LITE POD A small hand portable case plus rugged laptop for rapid deployment in hostile conditions such as combat zones or for “knock and talk” type scenarios.

The only technical resources needed by the PODs on site are power and an IP (internet Protocol) address. This IP address can be provided by a variety of connections including:

• ADSL
• Wireless, 3G, Satphone, PSTN etc
• Corporate LAN (options are available for government level encrypted networks)
